Representing Clyde Boyd Middle School after transferring from Cleveland Middle School, Kruz is building a reputation as a versatile competitor who excels in football, basketball, and track.
Whether he's making plays as a wide receiver and cornerback on the football field, running the floor as a guard on the basketball court, or competing in the 100-meter dash and high jump, Kruz brings the same approach to every sport: work hard, play unselfishly, and continue improving.
A Love for Competition
Kruz's passion for sports started at a young age.
"Just being around it and watching when I was younger," he said when asked what made him fall in love with sports.
That early passion has developed into a commitment to becoming the best athlete he can be.

"Moving the ball and making extra passes," is how he describes his playing style.
His vision and ability to make quick decisions are among his greatest strengths. Rather than forcing plays, Kruz focuses on making the right play for his team.
"Vision, being quick, and knowing when to score or pass," are qualities he believes separate him from others on the court.
Focused on Improvement
Despite already finding success, Kruz understands that development never stops.
This season, one of his biggest goals is becoming more aggressive and attacking downhill more consistently.
That willingness to identify areas for growth is one reason coaches and teammates enjoy having him around.
Big Goals Ahead
Like many young athletes, Kruz dreams big.
His short-term goal is to dunk by 9th grade, while his long-term goals include helping his team become state-bound in high school and ultimately earning the opportunity to play sports at the collegiate level.
Those goals are fueled by the support of someone who has had a major impact on his journey.
Inspired by Family
When asked who motivates him the most, Kruz didn't hesitate.
"My dad because he pushes me to be the best I can."
That support system continues to drive him toward becoming a better athlete and person every day.
Leadership Matters
Kruz believes leadership extends far beyond points, touchdowns, or medals.
"I feel like it means everything because if you can't own up to your mistakes and communicate, then you can't be successful on and off the court or field."
That mindset reflects a maturity beyond his years and shows why he is respected by teammates and coaches alike.
Advice for Young Athletes
For young athletes looking to follow in his footsteps, Kruz keeps his message simple:
"No matter where you're from or how tall you are, just work hard and you'll achieve your goals."
